Hello loved ones! Starting tonight at sundown we light candles again for and to remember and celebrate dear Katie, whom passed on 10 years ago tomorrow. Doesn’t seem possible that so much time has passed as our memories of Katie’s joy and wisdom can seem so clear still.
I know she is watching over her Nate in Germany as we hope he is thriving in his wonderful, jovial self. Bittersweet as Tammy has not seen or heard about her grandson in 9 years, but we are hopeful for the future. But Katie I know has been with us all these years as we continue our lives, facing challenges and celebrating good times. She helps us all make our little light a bit brighter. She guided us with the funeral service she and Andi put together, with the gospel choir alongside the great woman Rabbi from Birmingham Temple. The service was recorded and can be viewed on the Peacefully at Rest page on this site. So many wonderful messsges in that service, still relevant today. And check out the videos of Nate, as we remember what a wonderful young human he was, and likely still is. He loved his mom Katie, and she loved him even more!
