Hi all – we celebrated Katie’s birthday on the 30th and I hope you all did something good for yourselves as Katie would have wanted you to.
July 13th marks seven years since Katie left us too soon. I have been going through old photos and my heart warms seeing Katie’s infectious smile that is the love she was, and still is in our hearts.
For the Jewish tradition of Yahrzeit, candles are lit at sundown the evening before and these special candles burn for 24 hours to honor and remember those not with us. Some light candles in remembrance on the actual date instead, so whatever your preference is just fine. And no special candle needed.
If you’d like to share your candle or tribute photos, or write something, I will make a Yahrzeit post on Monday evening at sundown and you can add comments to it. And just email any photos to share to TheLifeOfKatieK@gmail.com and I will add them regularly to that Yahrzeit post on both Monday night and Tuesday.
I have been having a few bonfires in Katie’s firepit this last week as in photo above, and I hope that the fire’s warmth extends to you all, just as Katie’s love I hope you still feel in your hearts. For may all our little lights continue to shine, as Katie wished for us.
Love and peace to you all during this time, and every day.
Ashby
